Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII - Preview

All characters from the two previous instalments will be back!
The third and final chapter of Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII is coming out worldwide in almost a month. The first game was highly criticised by its linear and constant gameplay and not a change for exploring. Then the second game came fixing those issues but adding a low score about the story and the ending of the game.
No one could believe it but Square-Enix confirmed in September 2012 they started making the last game to close Lightning's story and, finally, have a happy ending for all characters.

If you're part of that percent of people who hated the first entry, you don't have to worry about this one as it doesn't look anything like it. Final Fantasy XIII-3 (also known as Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII) has a non-linear gameplay with lots of things and places to go out and explore. This time you'll control only one character (guess who?) and the fights have become faster and harder to win but we have the new feature of grabs that remembers to Final Fantasy X-2 but a lot faster.
Lightning will be fully customized by the player, it's like a Barbie doll; you can put her any dress and colour you want. I personally think this will be loved by Lightning fans (like myself) as there're a few sexy grabs you can put her on and another ones you'll remember from other Final Fantasy characters like Aerith, Yuna and Cloud to name a few...
Lightning is closer to a goddess that something else.

This game takes place a few hundreds of years after the events of FFXIII-2, now Lightning is a savior who has to save the souls of the people before the end of the world comes in 13 days (get it?). While it sounds quite simple I see it quite interesting, mostly for the ending as they said it will have a happy one this time.

The gameplay looks like it's going to be amazing this time as there're four different places we can fully explore and that includes to big cities filled with people and shops. Another good thing is the real-limit-time they put in the game as there're 13 days and you'll pass time like that watching the same landspaces during day and night times but I'm quite worried about that because it sounds like we won't have much free time to free roam.
Graphics look better than XIII-2 but worse than XIII...I expected to see great graphics as this generation of videoconsoles is coming to an end. The music is better than the other two games and the voice cast is as good as always. Hands down to Ali Hillis!

Lightning Returns is coming the 11th February in the US and the 14th February in Europe...I will actually miss her a lot once this game ends...
