Doctor Who - The Witch's Familiar Review

Image
:: RATED "S.S." FOR SUPER-SPOILERS - READ AT YOUR OWN RISK :: The Doctor believes Clara's dead and he will do anything to bring her back. He conforts Davros by takim him out of his throne and gets on it. Not only that but we get to see him walking around the Daleks in Davros's chair and joking around saying things like " The real question is... where did I get the cup of tea? Answer: I'm the Doctor, just accept it" One of the best one liners so far! This has been an 45 minute episode (like all of them) but we have a great plot that other TV shows may not have in an entire season. Missy and Clara are back and we, finally, get an answer about how the Mistress survived in her last encounter after a Cyberman shot her. Not only that but we also get a few details from her own past. After trying to get back into the city of flying Daleks and help the Doctor, they find some tunnels beneath the city with a Dalek on patrol. After they manage to defeat it,

:: RATED "S.S." FOR SUPER-SPOILERS - READ AT YOUR OWN RISK :: The Doctor wearing sunglasses and an electric guitar...It cannot get any better! After an amazing finale for last season and a one-year long wait, the Doctor is back one more time with a bang! The series premiere looks like a finale with many characters coming back and an unexpected ending will make us wonder what's next for the Doctor and how the real finale will be. The Doctor attempts to rescue a boy on an alien battlefield, but upon discovering that the boy is a young Davros, he abandons him. Then, a creature starts looking for the Doctor in various locations. Meanwhile, on Earth, all airplanes freeze in the sky, Clara and UNIT discover Missy is causing the phenomenon and was just a way to search for the Doctor after she finds his last will and testament. Once they find him having a three week party in Essex in 1138, the creature, who works for an older Davros  also arrives and explains that his b

Metal Gear Solid V - The Phantom Pain Review

The final Metal Gear game (that's what they say for now) is out and it may be the greatest of them all. After the destruction of Militaires Sans Frontières, Big Boss falls into a coma. Nine years later, he awakens and helps lead a new mercenary group, Diamond Dogs. Adopting the codename "Punished 'Venom' Snake", he ventures into Afghanistan during the Soviet–Afghan War and the Angola—Zaire border region during the Angolan Civil War to track down the men responsible for MSF's destruction. Along the way, he becomes reacquainted with his former rival Ocelot and encounters Quiet, an assassin with supernatural abilities. While he and Miller are initially driven to exact revenge, Snake soon unearths a plot by the Cipher organization to develop a new model of the Metal Gear system. The beginning and entire game is a mess and very hard to understand because its strange and weird plot. Not only that but you'll also find it very unexpected with strange charac

Children of the Night by Princess Luna

"Update":  The original video has been taken down, here's another working link: First of all, I like My Little Pony. I really love their references to popular culture, funny moments and mythical stories. Now, checking some beautifully fan-made videos, I found this particular video, was so good I had to share it with you (Yes, you...whoever you are). This video is found on YouTube, called "Children of the Night", starring the beautiful Princess Luna (my favourite character from the series) and the story of how the orphans find a new home thanks to her. The original song is called "Come Little Children" and appears in the movie Hocus Pocus. There are rumours that say the lyrics were originaly written by Edgar Alan Poe. This version is sung by Kate Covington, it sounds so much better and prettier than the original from the film but she granted permition to use it for this video. Check her original video here: And now for the main

Doctor Who's New Trailers plus Prologue!

Image
The Doctor is coming back for season 9 in just seven days. BBC has been launching different trailers and pictures trying to thrill even more. Not only that but they just released a short prologue: we see the Doctor back in Karn, the same planet where the 8th Doctor became the War Doctor back in the last special. There appears, once again, the same Sister who helped regenerate him back that time and she gets a special request from the Doctor himself. He hands her a disc that looks like the one that Missy has from the trailer of series 9; the famous "Last Will and Testament of the Doctor". Not only that but they also talk about someone, a creature, who's looking for him. Things couldn't get any more exciting and our good friend says "Look after the universe for me". This new series couldn't look any better. As last year, I will write a review per episode once its released. Without more exitation, watch the Prologue right here! Plus the two l

Stephen Colbert is back!

Image
Stephen Colbert is back! The 20th of past may, the Late Show ended with a great past episode where David Letterman said good-bye to the CBS. Now, after a long summer, the new Late Show starts again with the funny Stephen Colbert as the new host. I loved his last show "The Colbert Report" just like everyone else and, while I was quite sad that part ended, I was happy the epic late night show casted him as the new host. They couldn't be wrong about that choice. Yesterday, Colbert started his new show with a bang, it looks and feels like a mixed-upgrade between the two shows and that's a great thing. We get the best from the Late Show with the great elements that made the Colbert Report so fun to watch. It's obvious he isn't replacing Letterman, he's not trying to act as him or do the exact same show he has done for the past 20 years but making a new show with an old brand. While it's not as funny as Jimmy Fallon, the new ways Colbert is making the

Mr. Holmes - Review

Image
Rated "S" for "Some-Spoilers" - Please note before reading I'm a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes, that includes the classic novels, movies and current TV show. The film takes place in 1947, the celeb detective Sherlock Holmes is 93 years old, retired from his detective work and lives in a farmhouse in Sussex with his housekeeper and her son. His memory is failing and his last wish is to write his own and real version of his last case. Unhappy with Watson's version, he tries hard to remember all the details and the reason why he decided to quit his job and banish himself in a removed place like Sussex. Thanks to some objects which makes him get new details and to the housekeeper's son, Roger, who is fascinated by Holmes intelligence and whom gains the detective's appreciation.  The movie is based on the novel "A Sligh Trick of the Mind" narrating the events of an elder Sherlock Holmes who has a hard time remembering his last case. While th
