Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - Review
I'm going to be honest here, I kinda liked a bit the first time I played the last Assassin's Creed III but after playing almost 20 hours I realized how bad the game was and horrible the story was...and I never liked the main character Connor. So after that fiasco I decided not to buy the next AC Game but after reading everywhere this new entry was way better than the last one and remembers a bit to the AC II (which was my fave.) I decided to try it out...and I'm happy to have done that!
The new main character is Edward Kenway, Connor's grandfather, and a Captain Pirate trying to survive in the Golden Age of Pirates so expect to meet legends like Blackbeard, Captain Kidd and even Bartholomew Roberts! This character is very likeable, he's ruthless and only cares about himself but also has a good sense of humor and doesn't mind to help others...let's say he's half Connor and half Ezio.
The naval missions are back this time bigger and better, the world map here is amazingly big, the biggest I've seen in a while and while most of it is just water, it's fun to sail across it and see the amazing graphics that makes it look almost real, these are the best graphics from this generation I've seen! There are a few big cities like Havana and lots of small islands where there are caves to explore or hidden treasures to find.
The gameplay is the same as the other games but much better and, for the first time, without bugs and with a more realistic and better stealing. You have tons of things to do from amazing and never-boring naval fights, looking for treasure maps and find them, recruit crew for your ship, fishing and hunting are back but not in that obligatory way like in AC III.
The main story is not as interesting as the other games, he is just a pirate who wants to become rich and meets both sides from the Assassins and the Templars, he doesn't care about all that stuff, only to sail and find gold. This is much different from the last games but it's also a good thing because that story was being used too much...
I loved AC II and hated AC III (I tough it was very boring and uninteresting) but Black Flag makes me believe in this saga again, I really hope they keep doing it in the same way but I expect to see newer things in the next one.
· GRAPHICS (10) - Amazing landscapes and water/light effects, because these games are the latest from this generation, it's normal to see they look so good!
· SOUND (8) - Voices and music are well made, nothing special but the singing while sailing in the sea, that's quite a show!
· GAMEPLAY (9) - It's the same as always but a lot improved with new movements and amazing well done naval fights and exploring!
· STORY (8.5) - Simple plot and nothing special but for me it's quite interesting to see and interact with legendary pirates!

It's a tie and upgrade with the best AC ever, both are good in their ways!
