The Martian - Review

Image
::Rated "S" for "Some-Spoilers":: When astronauts blast off from the planet Mars, they leave behind Mark Watney (Matt Damon), presumed dead after a fierce storm. With only a meager amount of supplies, the stranded visitor must utilize his wits and spirit to find a way to survive on the hostile planet. Meanwhile, back on Earth, members of NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring him home, while his crew mates hatch their own plan for a daring rescue mission. Easy to follow and very entertaining, The Martian has become a huge surprise thanks to the small details and incredible cast. It kinda remembers to "Cast Away" in Mars, he must do everything to survive for an entire year so they can rescue him but things, as usual, get difficult. One of the good things I was afraid they won't do right was the path of the movie, I was hoping it would be fast-pacing and right to the point. I am happy to say they did it that way, fro...

Doctor Who Series 9 - Part 1 Review

Image
Series 9 is becoming one of the strongest seasons in Doctor Who I have seen. Thanks to the great performances of Peter Capaldi as the Doctor and Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald, the show keeps going strong. We have arrived to half of season now, only six more episodes left plus the Christmas Special. I couldn't be more excited and cannot wait what they are going to do in the finale. Here there are the reviews from the six last episodes! 1. The Magician's Apprentice (9.5) Read Full Review Here 2. The Witch's Familiar (9.5) Read Full Review Here 3. Under the Lake (8.7) Read Full Review Here 4. Before the Flood (9.0) Read Full Review Here 5. The Girl Who Died (8.5) In a Viking village, a girl named Ashildr (played by Maisie Williams) is about to make a desperate mistake. The Mire are the deadliest mercenaries in the galaxy, famed for showing no mercy and Ashildr has just declared war on them. The Doctor and Clara hav...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens New Trailer and Poster

Image
Star Wars new film is the most anticipated film of the year, it's already breaking records on ticket pre-sales so I have high hopes to become one of the most grossing movies in history! The new (and maybe last) trailer shows us new sequences where we see both new characters like the main antagonist, Kylo Ren and returning like Han Solo and Princess Leia. We still haven't seen anything from Luke Skywalker yet... We still have no clue about the plot of the movie but I really hope it's good or, at least, better than the last trilogy. Watch the trailer below, the movie is coming worldwide the 18th December!!

Doctor Who - Before the Flood Review

Image
After the events of "Under the Lake", the Doctor starts the episode breaking the fourth wall, talking directly to the audience explaining a time paradox:  a time traveler decides to go back in time to meet Beethoven, whose music he admires. However, he discovers that Beethoven never actually existed. The time traveler then decides to publish Beethoven's music himself, essentially 'becoming' Beethoven. But, the Doctor asks, how did the music first originate, then? "Who really composed Beethoven's Fifth?" The main credits start and we can hear an electric guitar playing the main theme, awesome! The Doctor then arrives to the Army base in 1980, before the mysterious flood and discover the space ship is carrying a deceased conqueror called The Fisher King.   Back in the future, Clara, Cass and Lunn realise that the Doctor's ghost is uttering a list of their names instead of coordinates. When the Doctor contacts Clara and is informed about his g...

Doctor Who - Under the Lake Review

Image
Under the Lake feels like a classic Doctor Who episode with a modern and unexpected twist. The Doctor and Clara travel to an underwater mining facility in Scotland at 2119 in a underwater city that was inundated. The place's facing some mysterious events relating an old legend creature; ghosts. The people who die seems to reappear as ghosts for some unknown reasons and those creatures seem to keep trying to kill off everybody so there can be more of them. The Doctor and the scientist team from the mining facility set up a plan to capture them and see what they can find out. While they succed and the Doctor discovers part of the truth and a message that tells some coordinates ( The dark, the sword, the forsaken, the temple). T he ghosts escape again and the team gets divided; the Doctor must go back to the past to discover what happened before the flood while Clara stays in the facility waiting for him isolated from the ghosts. But something happens, once the Doctor goes back,...
