Mortdecai - Review
Juggling some angry Russians, the British Mi5, his impossibly leggy wife and an international terrorist, debonair art dealer and part time rogue, Lord Charlie Mortdecai must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks and special charm in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold. This comedy film tries to be a mix between Clouseau and Austin Powers but completely misses with one dimensional characters and a dull plot that tries to be entertaining and funny but it only archieves it in a couple of scenes. I haven't read the book but the plot is not interesting at all; a Goya paiting is stolen and a MI5 officer (played by a bored Ewan McGregor) contracts the services of Lord Mortdecai (played by the great Johnny Depp) to find the painting, he's known by his high knowledge of art but I still cannot see why the secret service would hire someone just for that simple reason.
