Ranking - Top 11 Best Star Wars Movies
Been a huge Star Wars fan since I was 5 years old, I've watched every single movie a thousand times and, of course, there are good ones and bad ones, such as the Light Side and the Dark Side.
In my first "updated blog" post, here's my ranking from my favourite Star Wars movies, ranking all 11 films starting with the least favourite to the top and most favourite of all!
Let's start!
11. Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi
The development of Kylo Ren to the Supreme Leader was the best part as well as some unexpected cameos from Yoda. Unfortunately the plot and ending fails. Plus the change of character of Luke Skywalker is a real shame.
10. Han Solo - A Star Wars Story
While the movie doesn't show us a lot about Han Solo's origins, we get a nice side story of how he got is gun, his last name and the Millennium Falcon. The cast does a good job and the surprise cameo of Darth Maul was amazing.
9. Star Wars Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker
It's a disappointing ending to such a long franchise. It fixes what Episode VIII broke but fails at making it a good ending. The fights are not impressive and for once in my life, I wanted the bad guy to win!
8. Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace
The last fight is still one of my favourites ever and the speed race is still amazing but too much politics and not getting to the main point makes it an easy miss. Still, the cast and action sequences save the movie
7. Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones
Anakin and Padmé's chemistry fails a lot and it's a shame as it is the main attraction in this movie. Still, we get some nice revelations and great action scenes and fights. Count Dooku shines against Yoda.
6. Rogue One - A Star Wars Story
Even if it's not part of the main story and more like a side story, it shines with its smart writing and amazing casting. The action sequences are also great plus the cameos from past movies.
5. Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Darth Vader is born and that's what makes this movie epic. While the plot is easy to follow and predictable, the action and lightsaber fights are at the top! The last fight is still the longest and greatest of the saga.
4. Star Wars Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
This was my first Star Wars movie and I loved it, the ewoks make it too childish but have some funny moments. The ending is just perfection.
3. Star Wars Episode VII - The Force Awakens
A great start for a new trilogy, a shame the next movies were so bad while this made it so good, mixing the old with the new. Great to see the old characters we love again and amazed for the new characters, at least until the next two episodes came out.
2. Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope
What started everything. Classic story of a princess who needs to be rescued by a poor guy who has no idea what's going on. Epic villain and amazing plot. Never gets old.
1. Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
How to make a good movie even better? Adding unexpected and amazing revelations. The chance to see Yoda for the first time still makes me smile. The perfect movie, I wouldn't change a thing!
