Frozen Fever - Review
Set sometime after the events of "Frozen", Elsa is preparing the greatest birthday party for her sister, Anna, with the help of Olaf, Kristoff and Sven. While Elsa leads her sister through the kingdom showing her and making everything they ever wanted to do together (like riding a bike around the halls of the palace) but everything starts getting out of hand when Elsa finds out she has caught a cold. Everytime she sneezes, small snow people start appearing. While she shows her little sister a lot of different surprises, she gets worse with the cold to the point of almost falling off a tower. At last Elsa tells Anna she doesn't feel that good and lets her take care of her. Meanwhile, Olaf and Kristoff take the little snowmen to Elsa's ice castle with Marshmallow.
The main and only song called "Making Today a Perfect Day" is sung by Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and different people from Arendelle while she takes Anna around the kingdom. It's a nice song that talks about all good things but you cannot compare it to the infamous "Let it Go" or the also good "For the First Time since Forever". This is a nice-sweet song that fits perfect to the short.
The short is just 7 minutes long and has some memorable moments that will remember to some moments from the original film. It will make you smile and laugh thanks to characters like Kristoff, Olaf (obviously) and, surprisingly, Elsa. This time, Anna takes a step back and lets her old sister to take the main role preparing the party while dealing with a strange cold that makes little snowmen appear from nowhere. There also a small cameo of Hans of the southern isles of just two seconds, Marshmallow and Oaken in a portable sauna.
But, like I said, the highlight is Elsa once again in a totally unexpected way that will make you laugh. You can clearly see how she gets worse from the cold every second and acts funnier each time she sneezes. There's a moment she can't handle it anymore but insists on blowing the Birthday Horn, and sneezes into it, launching a giant snowball, that scene made me laugh out loud.
Some people on the Internet are asking themselves the reason why Elsa gets a cold, even she makes the famous reference "Cold never bothered me anyway" once again. My personal opinion about it is quite simple and obvious: She has ice powers (from winter) and it seems like they are in the middle of spring, so there's a warm weather and she can't handle that high temperature, it's too hot for her. If you remember, she's wearing a simple and fine dress in the middle of ice and snow in the original film...
If you enjoyed Frozen you are going to love this short and while it does feel very short (I'd have liked it to be a little longer), it's really sweet and charming but it still doesn't add anything new to the main story. We'll have to wait for the now officially announced "Frozen 2" (coming out in 2016 maybe?)

So, is it worth it to go watch Cinderella just to see Frozen Fever? If you want to see the new Cinderella version, then yes, you must. But if you don't care about the movie, you may have to think twice before spending that money for just seven minutes...
