86th Academy Awards
The Oscars 2014, also known as the 86th Academy Awards, happened this Sunday and it was full of (good) surprises.
First of all, I really enjoyed Ellen DeGeneres as the host, she was funny and great, I liked the pizza-joke.
Now for the real deal, the winners: you can check the full list here as I said, there were surprises as two of the favorite films American Hustle and The Wolf of Wall Street haven't won any award...and I'm happy for that as those films were too overrated. The real winner has been 12 Years a Slave and Gravity, congrats to both! Lupita Nyong'o has won an Oscar for her amazing performance as "12 Years", she really deserved it like the winner of Best Leading Role Actress Cate Blanchett!!
But the only winner (for me at least) is the animated film "Frozen", who was nominated for Best Animated Movie and Best Original Song for "Let it Go" and they have won both awards, they have done an amazing film that inspires to people who feels "different" to others and you just have to let it go (get it?) and be yourself, they deserve it, Congratulations!!
Idina Menzel (the voice of Elsa in the movie) made an appearance singing the hit song beautifully, a real shame she didn't sung the song entirely!

Again, Congrats!! |
Also, nothing to do with the awards, but a funny picture I found during the Red Carpet where you can see the band U2 and other singers plus a person behind them...can you spot him? Yes, it's Benedict Cumberbatch!
